Self–esteem and Following Your Dreams

Grades 3–5

Bonnie Lee believes that every child is special and that each child has unique dreams deep inside.

She encourages the kids to get in touch with those dreams, and to believe in themselves and their possibilities, even if someone tells them differently.

She uses personal experience to talk about overcoming obstacles, especially when that obstacle is oneself. She sings about being very shy as a child, but wanting to perform on stage so badly, that she did it until she wasn’t shy anymore.

The Program includes original sing–along songs like “I’m Gonna Like Me”, and the kids even get the chance to write and sing a few verses of their own with Bonnie Lee.

“The message I learned from Bonnie Lee was that if you feel bad, remember that you are always special. You should always feel good about yourself every single day, even if you don’t make a sports team.”
