No–bullying and Respect for others workshop
Grades 3–5
In this program, Bonnie Lee uses stories and songs to engage her audience in this important and serious topic.
She uses her personal experiences and encourages kids to walk in each other’s shoes, to feel empathy and to create respect.
She talks and sings about peer pressure (something that even adults experience) and challenges participants to recognize these behaviors; and then to realize that they have choices in how they choose to act.
Some songs that may be included in the program are “Do I Believe in Me (The Tommy song)”,“Don’t Laugh at Me”,“Before You Hit Send,” and others.
“The best part for me is not to call other people names because it will hurt their heart.
I never thought that words were so powerful.”
Rick, 4th grader at Huckleberry Hill Elementary School, Brookfield, CT
